Toppik Hair Fiber Shades: How to Choose the Right Color

Toppik hair fiber shades guide: Black, Dark Brown, Medium Brown and Light Brown

The right Toppik shade matches the colour of your hair at the roots, where the thinning shows. If you are stuck between two shades, pick the darker one. For most people in Pakistan, that means Black or Dark Brown.

Shade decides whether hair fibers look natural or obvious. The fibers are made of keratin, the same protein as your hair, so the texture already blends in. If the colour is off, people notice. This guide helps you get it right on the first order.

Which Toppik Shades Can You Buy in Pakistan?

Toppik makes nine shades worldwide. Our store stocks the four that suit most Pakistani hair: Black, Dark Brown, Medium Brown and Light Brown. You can choose any of them on the Toppik Hair Fiber 27.5g bottle and on the refill packs.

Shade Best for Good to know
Black Jet black or very dark hair The usual pick for natural, undyed Pakistani hair
Dark Brown Soft black hair, or black hair that looks brown in sunlight A safe choice if Black looks too harsh on you
Medium Brown Clearly brown hair, natural or dyed Check it in daylight before you decide
Light Brown Light brown or colour-treated hair Often mixed with Medium Brown for a closer match

How Do You Match Toppik to Your Hair Colour?

Match the hair at your roots, not the ends and not your scalp. Ends fade in the sun and look lighter than the hair close to your head. The fibers sit near the roots, so that is the colour to copy.

  1. Use daylight. Stand near a window. Bathroom bulbs and tube lights change how colour looks.
  2. Part your hair where it is thinning and look closely at the roots.
  3. Compare your roots with the shade photos on the product page.
  4. Pick the closest match. If two shades look equally close, go with the darker one.

Between Two Shades? Choose the Darker One

This is Toppik’s own advice. A slightly darker shade melts into the natural shadows of your hair. A shade that is too light makes the thin patch look brighter than the hair around it, which draws the eye straight to it.

So if your hair sits somewhere between Dark Brown and Medium Brown, start with Dark Brown. You can always lighten the result by mixing, as explained below.

Can You Mix Two Toppik Shades?

Yes. Toppik encourages mixing when one shade is not an exact match. There are two ways to do it:

  • In your hair: apply the darker shade first, then add a light layer of the lighter shade on top.
  • In the bottle: pour a little of one shade into the other bottle and shake until the colour looks even.

Mixing helps if your hair has two tones, such as dark roots with lighter brown lengths. A Toppik 12g bottle of the second shade is an inexpensive way to test a mix before buying a bigger size.

What About Gray or Salt-and-Pepper Hair?

For salt-and-pepper hair, Toppik suggests pairing a dark shade with gray or white fibers. We do not stock gray or white at the moment, so choose the shade that matches your darker hairs. It will fill in the thin areas, and your natural gray strands will still show through around it. For more detail, read Can Toppik Hair Fiber Cover Gray Hairs?

What If Your Hair Is Dyed?

Match the colour you dye your hair, not your natural colour. Toppik fibers can also hide root regrowth between colouring sessions. If your dye is a shade of brown, compare it in daylight with Medium Brown and Light Brown, and mix the two if neither is exact.

Signs You Picked the Wrong Shade

  • The patch looks lighter or dull next to the rest of your hair. The shade is too light, so go one shade darker.
  • The area looks flat or painted on in bright light. You may be using too much. Use less first, and only then try a lighter shade.
  • The finish looks powdery. Pat the area gently and set it with a few light sprays of Toppik Holding Spray.

Application matters as much as colour. If you are new to fibers, our step-by-step guide on how to use Toppik hair fibers covers the basics.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which Toppik shade suits most people in Pakistan?

Black and Dark Brown, because most Pakistani hair is naturally black or very dark brown. If you cannot decide between them, compare your roots in daylight and go darker if it is close.

Does the colour fade during the day?

No. Toppik fibers resist wind, light drizzle and normal sweat, and they stay in place until you wash your hair.

Which size should I buy to test a shade?

The 12g bottle. Toppik estimates it lasts about 30 days of regular use, which is enough time to see how the shade looks in different light.

What if the shade does not match?

Our product pages list a 7-day return and refund policy, and you can open the parcel before you pay. Check the policy on the product page before ordering.
